Racha Yai is located 20 km south of Phuket.
 
Getting to Racha Yai Island: Chalong Bay in Phuket have transportation to Racha Yai Island, takes about 30-60 minutes depends on the boat or transport from Rawai located on the southern tip of Phuket.

The sister Island Raya Noi Island has an area of 2.5 km2 and is located 8 km south of the of Raya Yai Island. The smaller Island Raya Noi has no accommodation but offers great diving.

Racha Yai Island is a small island that everything is very limited, there is no hospital facilities, money can be exchanged at hotels with a normally lower rate, so bring money to the island and most of hotels accept credit cards.

Everything is in Phuket if you need something special so stock up with sunscreen, mosquito spray or whatever you might need during your stay. There are a few smaller shops that you can buy some essentials.
