Events, festivals and holidays in Koh Phangan
Walking Street Market in Thong Sala is held every Saturday afternoon from 4 pm at the old main street, a lively marketplace for local Thais and tourists on Phangan.
Full Moon Party Every month at the time of the full moon, people from all over the world gather on the island for a giant beach party. Love Is is a beach music festival which starts 13 days after the full moon party, hang out on the Haad Rin beach with international artists, the feast going on for 18 hours.
Phangan Film Festival is held annually in late February for a few days, on the south / west part of Koh Phangan in Baan Tai.
Songkran Water Festival (Thai New Year) starts 13 April and lasts a few days. Songkran is the famous festival which sprays water on everyone, from young to old and even police officers get wet. No one is safe, spraying water normally one to two days. Especially transport and accommodation can be full this week. Book hotel and transport in advance.
