Beaches Hua Hin

Hua Hin is a fair sized town as well as a resort that is popular with both foreign travelers and Thai vacationers. As a result, its beaches tend to be quite busy on weekends and holidays. However, the beach areas are easy to get to, reasonably clean and suitable for families, with comfortably shallow water. They can also provide you a chance to mingle with Thai at play! Be aware that there is no beach road, so you must get to the beach from one of several set entrance points.

Hua Hin Beach

The beach adjacent to Hua Hin proper is easy to walk to from the town center and extends for several kilometers of soft white sand. Do be careful of the sharp rocks and seashells, though. Striking stone formations on the beach gave the spot its name, Hua Hin, or “head stone.” As you head south, the beach tends to be much less crowded. To the north is the King’s Palace area, where the beach is a restricted zone and pedestrians or boats are not permitted.

Khao Takiab

Khao Takiab is a former fishing village 7 km to the south of Hua Hin, which is now beginning to be developed as a tourist area. Khao Takiab beach is a good deal less crowded than the one at Hua Hin, though. The quiet expanse of beachfront is generally clean and sandy, but there are some pebbly areas.

Suan Son Pradiphat

Suan Son Pradiphat is a secluded area quite close to Khao Takiab. The beach is relatively unknown even to Thai locals. It is a picture of tranquil and unspoiled natural beauty, with a wide stretch of sand that is shaded by gracious pine trees.

Sai Noi

Sai Noi is a short distance from Hua Hin by car and is well worth the trip. Although quite small compared with many other local beaches, Sai Noi’s beach has a restful, private ambience. It is un-crowded even on the weekends and happily free from jet skis. If simply relaxing proves too difficult, you can have a game of beach volley ball, using the net that is permanently in place.
