You’ll find an amazing selection of restaurants at which to begin your night in Chiang Mai, from vegan to steak houses. Then head to the center of local night life, Loi Kroh Road, for bars of every description, from big screen sports bars to girlie bars and beyond, as well as a ring where you can see exhibitions of traditional Thai boxing – and even jump into the fray yourself. Moon Muang Road also has some pleasant drinking establishments. Nimmanhaemin Road near the university is the hang out for student age Thais, with casual clubs and pubs. If you would prefer a different sort of evening entertainment, there are a number of movie theaters locally.
